An e-powered car speeding up and leaping out of the giant screen. The cutest pink panda whetting the appetite of passers-by with their food offerings. And in time for Christmas, Santa with his elf wolfing down burgers and fries that seem to be within reach of hungry onlookers.
These were just some of the jaw-dropping naked eye 3D billboards, created by the creative geniuses of Onion Bulb Productions (OBP), the production arm of United Neon, in collaboration with the creative agencies of the brand.
Elsewhere in the world, the Guinness World Records-certified biggest and largest 3D billboard astounded people at Times Square, New York. The cute cat on screen in Shinjuku, Tokyo remains a favorite digital billboard. The “Lion King” 3D billboard in Wuhan, China is also considered one of the most stunning 3D billboard advertising.
With the 3D LED executions at BGC by OBP going viral showing the public and brands’ love for this new era of advertising, the Philippines is not far behind the global leaders in digital billboards excellence.
Since the official launch of OBP’s naked eye 3D executions, they have been very busy with brands lining up and racing to get their products into the coveted 3D billboard space according to Michiko Tañedo, Executive Producer of OBP.
This is not surprising, Tañedo said, as there is really a massive global demand and adoption of 3D LED billboard advertising.
“Brands recognize the power of immersive and interactive advertising that is provided by digital billboards. The thrust of OBP is to create visual productions that create strong emotional connections with users and create a memorable experience with them and the brands.,” Tañedo added.
“Brands know that they need to boost their digital game to attract and retain customers amid the highly saturated and competitive consumer market and OBP’s naked eye 3D LED executions could very well help them with that,” she said.
“OBP is our playground for anything and everything that’s creative. Our OBP media production house aims to provide creative solutions to make brands better seen, felt, and experienced,” Tañedo said.
Tañedo studied filmmaking at Asia Pacific Film Institute and went abroad to jumpstart her career. In Dubai where she worked with the best agencies, she was commended for her brilliance in directing, shooting, and video editing. After years of exposure in media production overseas, she returned to the Philippines and continues to create concepts that come to life through stunning video production for big brands and agencies.
Tañedo further explained that there are 3 Cs that make OBP different from other production houses: never-ending Curiosity to explore, research and experiment with fresh designs, new technologies and innovative concepts; close Coordination with their clients to ensure that the brand’s needs and asks are heard and integrated into the plans and executions, and Consistency in order to come up with designs and videos and other creative materials that are of the best quality.
“We never stop being curious. I always encourage my teammates to take advantage of this curiosity to motivate them to try something new. Kasi ‘di ba, ‘pag may interest ka na, it directs us to fruitful areas of inquiry. Then, you’ll start learning and developing new things,” Tañedo said.
Tañedo believes that a good idea is wasted if not executed properly. This is why OBP ensures that they have the expertise, skills, and experience to work and collaborate with any brand to bring their ideas to life.
“A great idea will only become a reality if it is planned, performed, and processed effectively. As a production house, we are preparing for greater things by consistently practicing accurate production of materials,” she added.
When asked if 3D LED billboard execution is just a trend, Tañedo said digital advertising is here to stay, the result being a more immersive, engaging, and world class consumer experience.
As technology rolls out at breakneck speed, Tañedo said that because of OBP’s curiosity, collaboration, and consistency playbook, they will never be intimidated by the unknown.
“We are and will always be ready for whatever creative advertising challenges we see in the future,” she adds.
Apart from 3D LED executions, OBP also offers 3D and 2D animations, 360 clickable walkthroughs, 360 photography, company AVPs, digital advertisements, infographic videos, live streams, LED and billboard documentation, event coverage, episode digital content, instructional videos, brand content, and portraits, product, lifestyle, and food shoots. OBP is also set to venture into commercial videos very soon.
