The Globe Group has scored a milestone as it broke into the exclusive LinkedIn 2023 Top Companies List in the Philippines for the first time, placing 6th as it cemented its stature as one of the country’s top employers.
LinkedIn’s Top Companies list celebrates firms that prioritize the growth and well-being of their employees.
Globe earned its place in the roster for its emphasis on creating an inclusive and healthy workplace through its purpose-led and progressive work culture. The company’s commitment to its people is also reflected in its comprehensive employee care programs, which encompass career growth and learning, work-life balance, and a range of benefits.
“This recognition validates our unwavering commitment to our employees and our belief that they are our most valuable asset. As we continue to navigate through an evolving business landscape, we remain steadfast in our mission to provide a work environment that promotes inclusivity and supports their growth and development,” said Renato Jiao, Globe Chief Human Resources Officer.
The company strives to foster an environment of respect, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity. It has moved closer to achieving a gender-balanced workforce, with 45% female employees in 2022. It also supports the LGBTQIA+ community.
Globe also invests in developing its next crop of leaders through the Soul Leadership Program, a course designed to help leaders find clarity of vision, lead with a heart and inspire their teams to work with a greater sense of purpose.
To promote a healthier work-life balance, Globe last year transitioned from a work-from-home arrangement to a flexible working setup. Employees are also encouraged to contribute to nation-building via the Volunteer Time-Off (VTO) program, allowing them to volunteer at least once a year in their chosen advocacy.
The leading digital solutions platform also recognizes the importance of providing an extensive benefits package to its workforce, including parental leave, personal accident policy, life insurance, disability and invalidity coverage, health insurance, retirement provision, and benefits for dependents.
Globe also provides access to its gym, sports clinics, and interest clubs to help employees stay healthy. It likewise partnered with HopeChat and KonsultaMD for mental health counseling services and covers prescribed psychiatric medicines.
In line with its strong advocacy for sustainability, Globe recently launched two electric-powered employee shuttles in partnership with Global Electric Transportation (GET), reducing fuel consumption and greenhouse gas emissions from its fleet vehicles.
“We remain unrelenting in providing our employees an inclusive, equitable, and supportive environment. We believe they are our most valuable asset, and we are proud to invest in their growth and well-being. We will continue to push the boundaries of employee care and satisfaction to maintain our position as the employer of choice in the Philippines,” said Globe Group President and CEO Ernest Cu.
Globe also won big in the recent LinkedIn Talent Awards, having been recognized as Best Employer Brand on LinkedIn for companies with 5,000 to 10,000 employees. Its Learning and Development program also received recognition as a Learning Champion. With the acceleration of technological advancements, Globe endeavors to configure a future-proof workforce by investing over P63 million for their learning and development.
Likewise, Mynt, a subsidiary of the Globe Group, was recognized as the Best Talent Acquisition Team for companies with less than 1,000 employees on LinkedIn.
