Oil firms roll back LPG cost but hike prices of gasoline, diesel and kerosene

MANILA  -A hefty drop in the price of cooking gas greeted consumers at the start of Holy Week, as local oil firms announced a cut in the  cost of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) by P9.20 per kilogram (kg) or  P101.20 per 11-kg cylinder.

The drawback, however, is a hike in the pump prices of gasoline, diesel and kerosene effective Tuesday, April 4, after three consecutive weeks of rollbacks.

According to the Department of Energy (DOE), this resulted in a year-to-date per-liter net decrease for diesel at P4.15 and kerosene at P5.55. Gasoline, meanwhile, had a net increase of P4.65 per liter.

Meanwhile, consumers began enjoying a P9.20-per-kilogram rollback on LPG prices on Saturday, April 1.

“These reflect the international contract price of LPG for the month of April,” Petron said.

The price of Solane-branded LPG went down by P9.18 per kilogram.
