Tech firm GoTo eyes expansion in PH

MANILA, Philippines  -Business communications and IT support and management firm GoTo, which owns remote software GoTo Meeting , is bullish on growing its Philippine portfolio this year, owing to rising demand brought about by remote work.

In a recent interview with the Inquirer, GoTo Asia Pacific vice president and general manager Lindsay Brown said they were able to see their revenues in the Phippines grow by 65 percent in the last two years.

“The pandemic has been fortuitous for us as a collaboration provider, along with many others. I think what’s unique for us is we do the business communications, which was critical for the pandemic. But then, we also do the IT management as well,” Brown said.

The GoTo executive said they also saw a 30-percent customer growth and a channel growth of 40 percent during the period.

“For [the first quarter], we are already [looking at a] double-digit growth. I think we are one of the few vendors at the moment that is acquiring companies,” Brown said.

GoTo acquired cloud-based device management provider Miradore from Nordic technology investor Standout Capital and other shareholders last year, allowing for mobile device management capability expansion.

Brown said they were also planning to incorporate more artificial intelligence (AI) technology into their platforms in the future.

“We’ve had automated chatbots that do IT support and those sorts of things. And those are in the public domain. It’s going to be really interesting where we take AI next,” he said. INQ
