Dr. Lucio C. Tan, the Kapitan, cheerfully greeted some friends early this week during an intimate lunch of sumptuous Japanese fare with native bibingka to welcome the New Year.

After almost three years of being homebound and attending mostly Zoom meetings for companies under his LT Group of Companies, the Kapitan now quietly hosts small parties for family and close friends and associates.

As Madame Carmen K. Tan, confides: “He is outgoing and wants to meet as many people as possible but we’re very careful about his exposure to the elements. I always remind him to wear a mask.”

At the New Year’s lunch, the Kapitan was very delighted to see his friends — like former Prime Minister Cesar E.A. Virata, former Chief Justice Artemio V. Panganiban, former BSP Governor Amando M. Tetangco Jr., and Madame Marixi R. Prieto.
