DHL Express opens new P254-M service center

Courier service provider DHL Express has opened its new and bigger P254-million service center in Pasig City, Metro Manila as it gears up for the growing demand for parcel deliveries due to the booming e-commerce industry.

In a recent statement, the logistics company said the new 4,768-square-meter facility, which is an expansion of its Ortigas Service Center, could help it in providing better consumer experience.

“Our investment in the Ortigas Service Center reaffirms our commitment to enhancing our services to meet the needs and changing demands of our customers with the highest standard of excellence,” said Nigel Lockett, country manager of DHL Express Philippines.

The new facility includes three warehouses, a customer retail outlet and material handling equipment.

DHL Express said it could continue accommodating the needs of new and regular customers in Pasig City, Mandaluyong, Quezon City, San Juan, Marikina, Cainta and Taytay, Rizal.

“Walk-in customers can easily book or drop their shipments at the DHL retail outlet conveniently located at the entrance of the facility,” the courier service firm said.

The location is also equipped with security features such as the 94 CCTV cameras capable of tracking shipments within the service center and an X-ray machine for shipment content inspection.

“With increased capacity and state-of-the-art equipment, our customers can be assured that their shipments are handled with the utmost care and security, which will support their growth in international markets,” DHL Express Philippines senior director for operations Promod George said.

Last month, the logistics company and Philippine Seven Corp., the exclusive licensee of 7-Eleven International in the country, announced their partnership.

It allows customers of DHL Express to drop off their document parcels at selected 7-Eleven stores in the National Capital Region and Calabarzon.

“The new partnership, which leverages 7-Eleven’s extensive nationwide network, allows us to improve the quality of service we give to our customers. This means customers can enjoy the increased convenience of having additional drop-off points aside from DHL Express ServicePoints to send important documents,” Lockett said earlier.

In September last year, DHL said it would increase its prices by 7.9 percent effective Jan. 1, 2023 to hedge the impact of inflation and capital expenditures.
