The Asian Institute of Management School of Executive Education and Learning, in partnership with the Cambridge Institute for Family Enterprise, launched a Top Management Program aimed at helping business families gain the fundamental knowledge and learn the essential practices to successfully steward their family companies into the next generation.

The program will be held on May 15 and 16, 2023 at Fairmont Makati, the Multigenerational Family Business program is a two-day course to be led by Dr. John E. Davis, faculty director of Family Enterprise programs at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Sloan School and Management and chairman and founder of Cambridge Family Enterprise Group.

After the two-day program, families may opt to avail themselves of private consultations with faculty, to receive guidance and discuss bespoke solutions for their particular family and business circumstances.

Being in a safe space with a shared language, the course provides useful frameworks for both the senior generation and the next generation to discuss their future goals and plans for their business, ownership, wealth, and family as the succeeding family members contemplate their career paths in relation to their contribution to the family enterprise.

Discussions include multigenerational success factors, stages of evolution of family businesses, governance, succession planning, development of the next generation, preparation for becoming a shareholder, among others.

Held over two contiguous days, the program is open to families, usually in groups of four or more, but will also accommodate groups of two from the family. With exclusive participation, the program offers a unique opportunity for like-minded families facing similar situations to exchange experiences and strategies.
