Prestone marks its 9th decade by recognizing top scholars nationwide
Top car care brand Prestone knew it was best to celebrate its 90th anniversary in the country by giving back to Auto Mechanics–and what better way to do it than to provide education and a brighter future for top scholars across the country.
Centering on the efforts of both students and their parents in braving the rigors of studying despite the COVID-19 pandemic, Prestone Philippines launched the “Anak ng Mekaniko” Scholarship Program in partnership with Clorox International Philippines and STI College.
Primarily, the project was a nationwide search to find the brightest students raised by parents who were mechanics by profession.
Earlier this month, Prestone held the awarding ceremony to recognize its chosen graduates and their families.
Present at said event were Clorox Intl. Phils. Marketing Head, Monique Gonzales, Commercial Director Paulo Lao, General Manager Marites Dagdag, and STI Education Services Group Corporate Planning and Business Development Head Anna Carmella Aquino.
According to Paulo Lao’s speech, each of the scholars represented one decade of the company’s growth, culminating to the company’s nine decades in the country.
He said that although achieving success “took a village”, it was more of team effort that made the scholars succeed in their studies.
Among the scholars recognized are the following:
- Melver L. Masangkay – STI-Batangas
- Harvey P. Plazo – STI-Naga
- Christian A. Diamante – STI-Batangas
- Aulinda S. Buban – STI-Batangas
- Edmajea H. Aguinaldo – STI-Global Taguig City
- Anna Raiza F. Dela Cruz – STI-Naga
STI was established on August 21, 1983 and since then has established one of the largest networks of schools in the Philippines with over 100,000 students nationwide.
It was tapped by Prestone when it launched the “Anak ng Mekaniko Scholarship Program” as it was recognized as being a dependable partner who shared Prestone’s vision in giving back by providing quality education to worthy scholars.
