PAPO inks MOA with aim for health leadership and management
The Philippine Alliance of Patient Organizations (PAPO), the umbrella organization of 48 disease-specific patient groups recently signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the Asian Institute of Management (AIM) for a capability-building course on Health Leadership and Management. To be conducted by AIM’s School for Executive Education and Lifelong Learning, the certificate course is customized for patient leaders so that they can be effective health advocates for patients’ welfare and Universal Health Coverage (UHC).
The program is composed of class sessions workshops and project mentoring sessions meant to strengthen the leadership and management competencies of patient leaders to effectively participate in shaping health policy. PAPO’s vision is to be the unifying body with one voice that supports patient organizations.
Signing on behalf of PAPO are Karen Alparce-Villanueva – President, Ara Lanorio – Secretary, Eins Rojas, Mel Lamsin, Nelia Medina – Trustees of the PAPO Board. Representing AIM is Prof. Albert Mateo, Head of the School of Executive Education and Lifelong Learning.
