Into the North and a well-lived life at Altaraza

The north is about to change with Ayala Land’s master-planned estate in San Jose del Monte: a 40-hectare development that has the makings of a future-proof metropolis

They say life is what you make of it. Wherever you find yourself down the road, it is you who will ultimately decide how to live the life that you want. It also doesn’t hurt to have options and sometimes, you find that it pays to look beyond your comfort zone.

This too applies to making decisions about where you want to live. Metro Manila has established itself a mecca for urban living, but so do many locales along its borders which has the added benefit of a balance between urbanization and respect for existing natural landscapes.

Bulacan, for one, is a bustling province, one that still has the last vestiges of greenery, idyllic country living elements tied with the conveniences of urbanized city centers. Did you know, for example, that Bulacan was hailed the number one performing province with the highest locally sourced revenues in 2020? It bested 80 other provinces with a total of P1.72 billion in revenues.

Today, Bulacan boasts city centers that could rival those in the National Capital Region with their balance of proximity to nature and human-centric development.

The Altaraza Locale Market intends to foster support for small to medium-scale businesses primarily based in Bulacan.

One of these is Ayala Land’s master-planned community Altaraza. Located at San Jose del Monte, Bulacan, the 40-hectare mixed-used estate is smack right into Quirino Highway at the boundary of Metro Manila and Bulacan. It’s interconnected with existing and upcoming highway infrastructures including the MRT-7 which is expected to even bolster the development already primed for business and investment.

Set against the backdrop of the majestic Sierra Madre mountain range, Altaraza is teeming with residential neighborhoods, a commercial district, retail options, and institutional facilities, ideal for raising a family and maintaining a balanced and productive lifestyle. Among these residential addresses are Amaia Steps and Avida Settings, two community-centric residentials that best represent that countryside allure of living in Bulacan. Altaraza

On the retail front, there’s the Altaraza Town Center commercial district which will be filled with offices, shopping stores, dining establishments, and parks to elevate the quality of life on this side of the map. The master-planned community is also equipped with education and medical institutions like the STI Academic Center and QualiMed Hospital.

WalterMart brings its one-stop, convenient, fresh and safe shopping experience to the San Jose Del Monte Community with the opening of its newest branch in Ayala Land’s Altaraza estate.

One-stop destination for supermarket needs, home appliances, specialty stores, and wellness Waltermart is also recently added into Altaraza’s retail landscape. It opened its door to the public on Aug. 31. The addition of this household name in retail is expected to complement the lifestyle of homeowners, officer workers, and even younger generations.

“In choosing a location for our development since we are a community mall, we look at the population of the area, specifically the population of our target market,” said Simplicio de Guzman, vice president and general manager for Business Development of WalterMart Malls. “I think it is important to partner with a company like Ayala who has a proven track record, not only in the real estate development industry but in many aspects of business.” AyalaLand and Waltermart have been working together in most of the former’s developments since the 1970s.

A month-long community fair is lined up starting this month from mural painting sessions, to dance workshops, and a fun run.

Amid all these, community-building is still at the heart of Altaraza, knowing well that most families are in dire need of healthy, safe, and green open spaces for recreation. To this end, Altaraza is holding regular community activities within its green spaces starting this month. These activities include regular outdoor wellness and dance classes to encourage a healthy and active lifestyle among residents. There’s also a community mural painting as well as a fun run both for the benefit of Climb against Cancer, a non-profit organization that supports underprivileged communities. And to foster support for small to medium-scale businesses primarily based in Bulacan, a Locale Market.

The promise of a better life outside of Metro Manila is within reach even without losing touch with nature at Altaraza. Sometimes, you just have to look past the horizon and see that a better life is there if you go further north.
