CEMEX Holdings Philippines appoints new President and CEO

CEMEX Holdings Philippines Inc. (CHP) confirmed the appointment of Luis Guillermo Franco Carrillo as new President and CEO effective on June 1, 2022. 

Luis Franco, who served as Builders Segment Vice President for CEMEX Mexico, will take on the position left by Ignacio Mijares who will now lead Corporate Strategic Planning at the CEMEX central office.

The board of Directors of CEMEX Holdings Philippines, Inc. (CHP) confirmed the appointment of Luis Guillermo Franco Carrillo as new president and CEO effective on June 1, 2022.

Luis brings more than 23 years of experience with CEMEX having joined the company in 1999. Prior to his assignment to the Philippines, Luis had previous appointments to key positions in CEMEX’s operations in the United Kingdom, Hungary and his home country, Mexico. 

Luis finished his bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey (ITESM) and obtained a master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) from the Stanford Graduate School of Business. 

Following his appointment as President and CEO of CHP, Luis vowed to focus on  pivotal strategic areas of the CEMEX Philippines’ operations.  “In the years to come, we will work toward ensuring we keep our focus on our priorities including Health and Safety, Customer Centricity, Innovation, Sustainability and Growth,” Franco said.
