The Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE) is hosting a three-day virtual conference this week to highlight a combination of PSE Index (PSEi) and non-index companies while raising investor awareness and participation in the country’s equities market.
The “PSE STAR: Investor Day” will run from May 24 to May 26 and will be co-hosted by Bloomberg L.P. with the Fund Managers Association of the Philippines and Trust Officers Association of the Philippines.
The event will bring together top executives and founders of 15 publicly listed companies—three of which are part of the 30-member PSE Index while the rest are second-tier growth stocks.
They would brief fund managers, analysts and investors on their recent financial performance and “business strategies” in the postpandemic period.
The PSEi companies are Monde Nissin Corp., Security Bank Corp. and Converge ICT Solutions Inc.
The rest of the participants are AllDay Marts Inc., Axelum Resources Corp., Cemex Holdings Philippines, Century Pacific Food Inc., China Banking Corp., Filinvest Land Inc., Max’s Group, Megawide Construction Corp., Nickel Asia Corp., RL Commercial REIT Inc., Shell Petroleum Corp. and The Keeper’s Holdings Inc.
“We hope this briefing will help investors and analysts understand the prospects of these companies, which are mostly comprised of second-tier issues and gauge the value of their stocks listed in the PSE,” Ramon Monzon, president and CEO of PSE, said in a statement over the weekend.
Possible follow-on offerings
“By communicating their story and their growth plans and strategy, we hope to see improved liquidity among these non-PSEi stocks. Attracting new investors, which will increase demand for its shares, may even prompt these companies to do follow-on offerings in the next year or so,” he added.
Aside from the company briefings, Bloomberg economists and analysts would be providing their outlook on the economy and the food and beverage, property, construction, service, financial and mining sectors.
Leading the briefings on the first day are Monde Nissin chief finance officer Jesse Teo, Max’s Group president and director Isaias Ariel Fermin, Century Pacific Food executive chair Christopher Po, The Keeper’s Holdings president Jose Paulino Santamarina and Axelum Resources vice president, chief finance officer and treasurer Marie Paguirigan.
Day 2 speakers are Filinvest Land president Tristaneil Las Marias, RL Commercial REIT chair Frederick Go, Megawide Construction founder, chair and CEO Edgar Saavedra, Cemex Holdings vice president for planning and administration Alejandro García and AllDay Marts director, president and CEO Frances Rosalie Coloma.
Third day speakers are ChinaBank executive vice president and chief finance officer Patrick Cheng, Security Bank executive vice president and chief financial officer Eduardo Olbes, Pilipinas Shell president and CEO Lorelie Quiambao-Osial, Nickel Asia vice president for public and social affairs group Jose Bayani Baylon, and Converge chief financial officer advisor Matthias Vukovich.
