The joint venture company of Filinvest Development Corp.’s power utility arm and ENGIE Services Philippines has signed a partnership with Filinvest Land Inc. (FLI) to explore opportunities in installing renewable energy generation facilities in the property developer’s latest industrial development in Pampanga and Laguna provinces.
This joint venture—Filinvest-ENGIE Renewable Energy Enterprise Inc.—was established in 2018 primarily to deploy sustainable solar solutions in the country.
The newly-inked renewable energy initiative will be the first of its kind for FLI’s industrial and logistics business segment, which will include the Filinvest Innovation Park at New Clark City and Ciudad de Calamba.
Through the partnership, both Filinvest and ENGIE will develop sustainable energy solutions such as solar, district cooling and facilities management to power the two future-forward cities.
The first phase of the collaboration would include the development of renewable energy generation systems in ready-built factories within the two Filinvest Innovation Parks.
“We are excited to bring eco-efficient solutions to this business segment. We will not only create value for FLI but also for our partner tenants through competitive power rates and carbon footprint reduction,” said Filinvest Land chief strategy officer Tristan Las Marias.
The Filinvest Innovation Park in New Clark City is a 120-hectare sustainable business hub within the 288-ha multiuse township Filinvest New Clark City. Meanwhile, the Filinvest Innovation Park at Ciudad de Calamba is a 25-ha industrial development that aims to cater to the growing number of entrepreneurs who wish to move or expand their operations in Laguna.
ENGIE, a French multinational utility company, is a global leader in low-carbon energy and services. It operates in the fields of energy transition, electricity generation and distribution, natural gas, nuclear, renewable energy and petroleum.
