How does the pandemic’s so-called “innovation boom” translate for the world of gaming and leisure? Hann Group boldly offers Hann Casino as a grand exemplar.
With its breathtaking project officially launched on Dec. 15, Hann Group — owner and developer of premier luxury destinations Widus Hotel & Casino and the Clark Marriott in Clark Freeport Zone, Pampanga — reflects not only the company’s goal of creating a “millionaire’s playground” but also the emergent demand for well-being and warmth.
“With Hann Casino’s design, we want to prioritize environmental sustainability and quality guest experience,” noted Daesik Han, chairman and CEO of Hann Philippines Inc. So, the exciting destination delivers, more than just an eyecatcher of a shell and a luxurious gaming experience, a secure and comfortable stay – something guests can now see firsthand.
The biophilic casino interiors pay homage to the richness and vitality of nature at Clark. To ensure this message is interpreted opulently, Hann brought in world-class design solutions brand Aedas Interiors Limited HK, whose portfolio includes the Hong Kong International Airport Midfield Concourse and The Langham in Shenzhen.
“Integrating Clark’s tropical forests and famous mountain landscapes into the development’s interiors aims to keep Hann Casino close to the heart of the locals, as well as creates a refreshing experience for the foreign guests,” said Alan Hamilton, director at Aedas.
As they enter, people will find the concept imprinted on the front-of-house areas, like the lobby. Maximalist clean lines and geometric forms mirror the layers seen in nature.
The timber veneer used for surfaces in that area also embodies Hann’s commitment to sustainability. Designers chose materials sourced from sustainably managed forests and plantations.
Products even bore a Chain-of-Custody certification from the Forest Stewardship Council, an assurance that they came from responsibly managed sources. Paints met green standards, carrying the Singapore Green Building Product certification. Hann Casino also commits to minimal waste and energy efficiency.
Addressing concerns with air quality, all to ensure guests would breathe clean and safe air, Hann tapped Forsspac engineers to equip gaming areas with Under Floor Air Distribution, or UFAD.
“This means that the air in the casino is continually cleaned of pollutants including tobacco smoke, volatile organic compounds, and critically, airborne pathogens, including the SARS-CoV-2 virus which causes COVID-19,” said Philip J. Thoburn, technical director at Forsspac.
Systems also guarantee that “the quality of the air is maintained while also reducing the energy consumed in keeping the areas comfortable,” he added. Sensors in the casino spaces instruct air conditioners to adjust airflow based on occupancy. In conventionally conditioned areas, recirculated air is filtered and diluted with pretreated outdoor air. At the parking area, carbon monoxide is watched to limit the energy consumed in ventilation.
“A top-notch standard of safety and sanitation has always been our priority in all of our property developments. These stringent measures in place are continuously implemented during and after the pandemic,” Han said. Certainly, Hann Casino’s commitments make it ready to provide a memorable gaming and leisure experience for the post-pandemic world.
Hann Casino is part of the bigger Hann Casino Resort endeavor – the first fully integrated resort in Clark and one of the premium sub-brands under the master brand Hann Resorts – together with Clark Marriott, Swissotel Clark and, in a few years, Mercure Hotel. The other sub-brand, Hann Lux Lifestyle Resort, is currently in the planning stage.
