Manila, Philippines – Philippine logistics firm Logistikus, Inc. and Asia-based 3PL Kerry Logistics Network have officially announced the launch of their joint venture with the establishment of Kerry Logistikus Philippines, Inc. or KLI.

This development is the culmination of a cordial and mutually interest-driven period of negotiations between the two logistics firms – marking Logistikus’ trust and confidence in the 3PL Asian giant just two months short of its fourth year of operations.

Under the Joint Venture Agreement, Logistikus ICL or Integrated Contract Logistics will be rebranded as Kerry Logistikus, while Logistikus Express will now be known as Kerry Express.

Despite the global economic contraction and overall reduced buying and spending due to COVID-19, Logistikus maintains a positive growth forecast for achieving sustainability and profitability – with fresh equity coming from KLN projected to drive their investments in intelligent technology for increased operational efficiency. Logistikus officials have set their sights on securing new digital infrastructure for freight management, productivity analytics, as well as demand forecasting to complement the skills of its local workforce and to better serve their customers in the local market.

“Kerry is a leading global logistics brand – with a vast infrastructure in integrated logistics, multimodal international freight forwarding, and cross-border e-commerce, plus presence in more than 50 countries,” shares Logistikus Chief Commercial Officer, Jay Capino. “Combined with Logistikus’ own capabilities, our familiarity with the local retail terrain, and the relationships we nurture with our clients, there will be no shortage of opportunities for KLI Philippines to expand and grow as a logistics powerhouse”. Capino also notes the February 2021 merger of Kerry Logistics and China’s top integrated logistics firm SF Express and foresees even bigger prospects for KLI to expand its reach and increase supply chain productivity. “SF Express, being the largest courier, shipping and e-commerce operator in China, brings with it expertise and infrastructure that’s data and technology-driven. It would be valuable to integrate those advantages into our operating model.”

For many of its principals and e-commerce customers who currently enjoy its services, Logistikus is poised to expand its offerings and global coverage when KLI is officially launched in the Philippines. The KLI brand will be introduced simultaneously with the first phase of its expansion and digital upgrade program in the first quarter of 2022.

The joint venture marks the entry of KLN into the Philippine logistics market which remains a significantly growing sector driven by recovery in e-commerce demand, domestic manufacturing and exports.
