PTAA preps for Travel Expo 2021

After the COVID-19 outbreak that greatly affected the travel industry worldwide, for the first time in almost two years, preparations of the Philippine Travel Agencies Association (PTAA) are now underway for both the 28th PTAA Travel Tour Expo (TTE) and the 6th PTAA International Travel Trade Expo (ITTE), slated on November at the SM Megamall MegaTrade Hall in Mandaluyong City. PTAA president Michelle Taylan is ecstatic to share this news, “Finally, we are back. This is a clear and definite indication that the tourism industry is on its way to recovery, and we are looking forward to welcoming visitors to our wonderful islands again.”

These much-anticipated expositions are expected to provide new options, incredible experiences, and just about any relevant information guests need to book their next unforgettable vacation. For the TTE, close to 50 exhibitors are partaking in the three-day affair on November 5 to 7, 2021 and special Thanks to our main sponsors Tourism Promotions Board (TPB), Israel Embassy and Israel Ministry of Tourism, Cebu Pacific, Turkish Airlines and Globe who supported in making the annual TTE possible.

All are ready to present their plans and packages to potential holiday and business travelers, travel and tourism trade practitioners, government and business leaders, incentive and convention planners, direct buyers, and investors. Meanwhile, companies and exhibitors from Australia, Japan, Malaysia, Morocco, Taiwan, and Turkey are joining the two-day (November 5 and 6) ITTE event.

As excitement and momentum build for the travel expos, more guests and participants are estimated to come and show their support for the tourism industry stakeholders. Organizers are enhancing entry measures and health protocols to ensure everyone’s safety. A medical team is likewise on stand-by in case of any emergency.

The following health protocols will be followed:

1. There will be a body temperature check upon entrance.

2. Only a limited number of visitors are allowed inside the exhibition halls, as mandated by the COVID-19 Inter-Agency Task Force.

3. QR codes are going to be used for registration in order to avoid contact.

4. Everyone will be required to wear face mask and face shield and social distancing must be observed in the venue.

Also, we at PTAA supports the fight against COVID-19, thus entrance fee will be waived for fully vaccinated individuals.

“I encourage everyone to seize this opportunity. This is the moment we’ve all been waiting for. It’s the best chance for those in the hospitality industry to revive their businesses and attract travelers, and for tourists to know their options and learn everything about traveling in the new normal,” Taylan explains.
