Megaworld spending P98B for 1st Bulacan business district
Tycoon Andrew Tan-led Megaworld Corp. is investing about P98 billion to develop a “global business district” in an 85-hectare new estate spanning Marilao and Bocaue, envisioned to be the first metropolitan hub for business and lifestyle in the province of Bulacan.
Called “Northwin Global City,” the estate marks Megaworld’s 28th township project. It will have a themed commercial district, high-rise residential condominiums, hotels, shopping malls, mixed-use commercial buildings, educational institutions and state-of-the-art offices.
Northwin will also host one of the stations of the highly anticipated Manila-Clark Railway Project, boosting connectivity to Metro Manila and other growth areas.
Furthermore, 40 percent of the entire township will be dedicated to green and open spaces, such as landscaped parks.
The P98-billion capital expenditure for Northwin is expected to be disbursed in the next 15 to 20 years.
“Finally, our vision of having a truly modern and global business district for Bulacan is coming to a reality. This is like building a new city that will put the province of Bulacan in the global business map because we envision huge multinational companies to be operating here once our commercial district and our office towers will be completed,” Kevin Tan, Megaworld chief strategy officer, said in a press statement on Wednesday.

Travel time is estimated at 20 minutes from the proposed New Manila International Airport in Bulacan and five minutes from the Philippine Arena.

“Once completed, Northwin Global City will have convenient access to three international airports in Bulacan, Clark and even in Metro Manila,” Tan added.
From the Ninoy Aquino International Airport, Makati Central Business District and Bonifacio Global City, Northwin can also be accessed via the Skyway 3 towards NLEx. Travel time from these business hubs is about an hour during normal traffic.
