SM Prime Holdings Estate Management Group, together with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources, Parañaque LGU and Barangays Tambo and Vitalez, held continuous clean-up drives last August 26 and September 3, to help clean the city’s waterways.
This comes after several successful clean-up drives held in the past months, in both Parañaque and Pasay cities.
The initiative collected 206 sacks of garbage and vegetation, weighing a total of 6,000kgs.
Volunteers were comprised of the Barangay Tambo Environmental Police, DOLE-TUPAD, Parañaque CENRO, DENR South Field Office, Barangay residents, and volunteers from SM’s security, maintenance and estate management personnel.
SM Prime supports the Manila Bay Rehabilitation program by partnering with local and national governments to help clean its rivers and waterways.
SM is also set to embark on several information campaigns to help educate local communities on the proper management and disposal of solid waste.
