To celebrate the unsung heroes who contributed and continue to help the Philippine economy thrive and survive amid the challenging times, Globe Business strengthens its support for Filipino micro, small, and medium business owners by kicking off this year’s Saludo SMEs campaign.
With the message “Tuloy Tayo”, Saludo SMEs aims to empower and enable Pinoy entrepreneurs who have exerted undying efforts to adapt and move forward despite the challenges brought by the pandemic.
Recognizing the valuable efforts of MSMEs
June 27th has been declared by the United Nations as MSME Day. With MSMEs accounting for about 99.5% of all registered business in the country, consequently, the Department of Trade and Industry celebrates the last week of June as National MSME Week.
From these MSMEs, more than 250,000 surround the Ayala Group’s ecosystem in 2020. This celebration, according to Fernando Zobel De Ayala, President and CEO of Ayala Corporation, is in recognition of the efforts and determination done by micro, small, and medium-sized businesses.
He remarked, “Despite the uncertainties, SMEs kept going, finding new ways to keep their business alive with optimism and hunger for success. For these efforts, for your motivation, for your success — we in Ayala Corporation and Globe salute you. And of course, we’re here to help you.”
Moving forward with digital solutions toward recovery
The health crisis introduced a new reality to entrepreneurs. With the realization of the virtual world, SMEs have had to innovate and adapt as quickly as they could to not get left behind.
Ernest Cu, President and CEO of Globe Telecom, acknowledges that the situation brought upon everyone was hard. On one hand, he remarks that “the inspiring brilliance paired with the resilience of Filipino entrepreneurs deserve to be applauded”.
For Globe, Cu explains that 2021 is all about providing technology that empowers Filipinos from all walks of life and enables digital transformation. The virtual world offers many possibilities for SMEs that are cost-effective, innovative, and future-proof.
“To the backbone of the country’s economy, we salute you. And in our adoration of your passion and to celebrate your success, we at Globe Business hope to empower you, even more, this year through a variety of online tools and digital solutions through Saludo SMEs,” Cu shared.
