MANILA, PHILIPPINES – It’s a purple day for some of our front liners. McDonald’s Philippines, through its charity of choice, Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC), kicked off its much-awaited BTS Meal in the Philippines with health care workers enjoying the first taste of the limited-edition offering.

Two days before its official launch on June 18 in the country, over 2,000 BTS Meals were distributed to select hospitals and vaccination hubs, through McDonald’s Kindness Kitchen.

“Our medical frontliners have been working tirelessly to keep everyone safe throughout the pandemic. With the launch of the BTS Meal and the overwhelming support McDonald’s is getting from the public, we want them to be the first to enjoy the BTS Meal,” said McDonald’s Philippines President & CEO Kenneth S. Yang.

Filled with excitement upon receiving the treat, a beneficiary from Air Force General Hospital shared how McDonald’s, through RMHC has always been supportive of them, especially throughout the pandemic. “Tuwang-tuwa po kami kasi hindi po nakakalimot ang McDo [Kindness Kitchen]. Ever since last year until this year, walang sawa sila sa pag consider sa amin [sa meal distribution]. Very Privilege kami nauna sa BTS meal.”

Packed with 10-piece Chicken McNuggets®, medium World Famous Fries®, medium Coca-Cola, and Sweet Chili and Cajun sauces inspired by popular recipes from McDonald’s South Korea, this McDonald’s treat will also be made available to the general public on Friday, June 18 in all stores nationwide.
