Domestic carriers Cebu Pacific and Philippine Airlines (PAL) continued vaccine deliveries, supporting efforts to combat the COVID-19 pandemic.

Cebu Pacific said over the weekend it carried a fresh batch of one million doses from Beijing, China, while PAL completed delivery missions to Bacolod and Butuan.

Cebu Pacific, whose delivery was made using a chartered A330 flight, said this was its fourth shipment from China.

“We are keen to transport the vaccines, whether internationally or domestically, so that our national vaccination campaign meets its targets,” he added.

Last week, Cebu Pacific flew a total of 51,800 COVID-19 vaccines to five provinces, namely, Puerto Princesa, Cagayan de Oro, Cotabato, Zamboanga, and Tuguegarao.

The budget carrier said it had transported 3.5 million doses from China to Manila and more than 1.1 million doses to various parts of the Philippines since March this year.

PAL said it had flown a total of 2.4 million doses from overseas and about a million doses to different areas in the Philippines.

Its recent domestic deliveries involved 10,000 Sinovac doses to Bacolod and 3,250 doses to Butuan. Last week, it mounted missions to Davao, Cebu, Iloilo and Puerto Princesa. INQ
