Industry giant Globe Telecom more than doubled the construction of new cell sites in the first quarter of 2021, part of a record P70-billion spending program for the year.

The company announced after its annual shareholders’ meeting on Tuesday the completion of 318 new cell sites, up 152 percent from those built in the same period of 2020.
