Globe, TM allow number portability ahead of law’s full implementation by Sept. 30
MANILA, Philippines—Globe Telecom is allowing internal number portability within its group ahead of full implementation with rival networks, which is expected by the end of September 2021.
This means Globe and TM users can keep their current mobile numbers when switching from prepaid to postpaid subscriptions or brands within the group.
“Enabling our customers with the freedom to move across subscription types while allowing them to retain their original mobile number creates a new level of experience,” said Issa Guevarra-Cabreira, Globe chief commercial officer, in a statement.
The statement said this would be available only to subscribers “not under a subscription lock-in period, have no financial obligations or overdue payments to settle.”
Subscribers can avail themselves of the number portability option using their GlobeOne account or by visiting a Globe store.
Globe myBusiness customers can reach out to their account managers or through myBusiness chat support.
