MANILA, Philippines — Cebu Pacific is cancelling several local flights, including those to popular tourist destinations, after the government imposed fresh curbs to slow the spread of COVID-19.

In a statement, Cebu Pacific said the cancellations will affect flights between Manila and Boracay, Coron, Legazpi, Cagayan de Oro, Cauayan, Cebu, Pagadian, Ozamiz, Iloilo, Puerto Princesa, Kalibo, Naga and Virac from March 25 through April 4 this year.

On Monday, the government imposed stricter quarantine guidelines in Metro Manila, Bulcan, Cavite, Laguna and Rizal due to the recent spike in COVID-19 infections.

Under the guidelines, only essential travel—which excludes leisure trips—was allowed in and out of Manila’s Ninoy Aquino International Airport.
