Local travel restrictions are slowly being eased and we’re all waiting in great suspense for the COVID-19 vaccines to finally reach our shores. On that account, we can’t help but make travel plans already, saving wishlists on our phones of the places we’d like to visit once it is safe and possible.
One favorite destination of local and international tourists is Bacolod. Negros Occidental’s capital is an easy pick as it offers a little bit of everything—mouthwatering food, scenic spots, rich history and culture and such warm and friendly people. From the striking, storied structures such as Daku Balay on Burgos Street, San Sebastian Cathedral on Rizal Street and The Ruins in Talisay City to the delectable delights by Sharyn’s Cansi House on Narra Ave., Manokan Country on Fr. M. Ferrero Street and Roli’s Cafe on La Salle Ave., it’s nearly impossible to run out of places to explore and goodies to try in Bacolod.
It thus comes as no surprise that vacationers end up never wanting to leave. In fact, some even consider settling in the City of Smiles for good. Where else can you get a good balance of a thriving city that has that rustic vibe and distinct southern charm?
