A bullish year for Cathay Land

The commercial district of Westborough Town Square Center provides convenience and accessibility to the residents of South Forbes Golf City.

From the start, its thrust has always been to create an integrated city where one is just a 15-minute walk from everything he or she would need. But it would take a pandemic to further highlight such a concept which this developer has been offering for a long time now.

Even before COVID-19 transformed our lives and changed our preferences when it comes to our homes, Cathay Land has always been ready to meet the demand for modern, green and well-thought-out living spaces within integrated, masterplanned communities. Given the rising demand for such quality residences, this developer is quite bullish, more than ever, of its prospects as it expects sales to double this 2021.

“Except for three months (in the previous year), our monthly sales actually were up,” Cathay Land president Jeffrey T. Ng said in an interview. “We are expecting our sales to double this year. We’re confident because of the location of the properties.”

Integrated township

Cathay Land president Jeffrey T. Ng is bullish of their prospects for 2021 despite the pandemic.

Ng was referring in particular to the 250-hectare mixed-use development, South Forbes Golf City.

A world-class, integrated township composed of 10 boutique communities, South Forbes Golf City is located in the heart of the Silang-Sta. Rosa growth corridor. Residents and guests can expect to come home to vast open spaces, tree-lined roads, low density subdivisions, well-ventilated mid-rise condominiums, sprawling town centers and a signature 18-hole golf course, all with the fresh, cool air coming from Tagaytay and lush greenery. There’s a Westborough Town Center, Marketplace, Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf, Anytime Fitness, Microtel, St. Benedict’s Church, St. Scholastica’s College and Chiang Kai Shek College. Commercial strips are also present in every condo so homeowners need not go far or congregate in one specific establishment just to get the things they need.

Ng pointed out that the pandemic made people realize the importance of having more spaces and the safety that homes can provide–most especially now that many continue to work and study at home. This could be quite difficult to do for those living in smaller spaces but would have to share the area with a spouse, siblings or children.

Also, more people have started to recognize that there is life beyond the central business districts of Metro Manila, prompting many to live away from the urban jungle given a newfound appreciation for open spaces and laidback living. For the price of a studio or one-bedroom condo unit in Bonifacio Global City or Makati, Ng said, homebuyers can already get a three- or four-bedroom single-detached home in any of Cathay Land’s themed and gated communities.

“You have your own office in your home. Even the children who have to study from home can have their own bedroom or study room. So really, space is a big premium now, and they can get it all from their single-detached units in South Forbes Golf City,” Ng said.

Not to mention, of course the fact that a Cathay Land home is a solid investment.

“One saves their money in the bank, it earns just one percent. But with a house and lot, a unit in South Forbes Golf City, they can be assured of a capital appreciation every year, for years to come,” Ng shared.

Residents need not be concerned about accessibility as well since South Forbes lies right beside the Cavite-Laguna Expressway’s (Calax) Laguna Boulevard Exit.

“Now, more than ever, people realize how convenient, how much of a boost Calax is to the booming Sta. Rosa-Silang-Tagaytay area,” he said.

Drawing inspiration from the rain forested and mountainous island in Thailand, a visit to the clubhouse at Phuket Mansions will surely transport you to your own personal paradise.

Projects in the pipeline

For this year, Cathay Land is gearing for more projects. In the pipeline are commercial units and residential condominiums in South Forbes, a new phase in Racha Mansions, and new phases in the Cavite Light Industrial Park (CLIP).

“We’ve had tremendous response from industrial locators who realize that with Calax, they’re just a few minutes away,” Ng said.

CLIP is a 70-ha mixed-use, prime commercial and industrial estate in Silang, Cavite that is home to companies engaged in light manufacturing, assembly operations, and warehousing. It is readily accessible via the Calax Silang East Exit and South Luzon Expressway Carmona Exit, and soon, the completion of Skyway Stage 3 will make it more convenient for locators and guests to reach CLIP. Expected to further spur demand for lots in CLIP is the rise in preference for online shopping, which meant that companies will require more warehouses and cold storage facilities.

“The pandemic has expedited the market’s realization that regions beyond the borders of central business districts have a lot to offer. All of our projects are built not only to be resilient in terms of quality, but also to (be responsive) to the ever-changing tastes of our clients and the landscape,” Ng concluded.

The Chateaux de Paris clubhouse and its French inspired architecture will surely transport you to the City of Love.
