Quezon City remains a major part of Globe’s network upgrades.
Globe said in a statement it installed at least 99 new cell towers and has completed 917 site upgrades in the city from January to November this year.
“These efforts have made connectivity with bigger capacity and wider coverage possible all over the city,” Globe said.
Much of the improvements were spurred by the growing use of data services. Globe also said it installed new 4G or LTE equipment to replace ageing 2G and 3G sites.
“At the end of the day these installations will be for naught if our customers will not experience an improvement of their mobile and data services,” Joel Agustin, Globe senior vice president for program delivery, network technical group, said in the statement.
“We are hoping that more service improvements will be enjoyed by our customers in Quezon City in the coming new year. Happy customers mean what we are doing now is right,” he added.
