Together as one this Christmas
It was a virtual celebration filled with gratitude, positivity and hope for better, brighter days ahead.
Megaworld Hotels lit up on Thursday night Christmas trees from its 10 hotels across the country, as it chose to keep the holidays merry and bright, and the spirit of Christmas alive in everyone’s hearts amid these challenging times. Its significance, however, goes beyond just spreading the Yuletide cheer to guests and associates, as this year’s tree lighting takes on a more meaningful purpose—to celebrate and help strengthen the solidarity of the group despite the heavy blows dealt by the COVID-19 pandemic and the lockdowns on the country’s hospitality sector.
“How do we choose to celebrate Christmas in times of a crisis like COVID-19? How do we choose to be merry when we’re in the hospitality industry, one of the worst hit during this pandemic? As we light the Christmas trees of all our 10 properties in Megaworld Hotels, we would like to celebrate the undying support of all our guests who have stayed at Megaworld Hotels despite the new realities. (This is) a celebration of the owners who have continuously backed the hotels and its associates. This definitely deepened the commitment as well as the loyalty of the employees and will surely go a long way,” Megaworld Hotels group general manager Cleofe Albiso said in her video message.
“Moreso, this celebration is a thanksgiving for all the hard work of the associates of Megaworld Hotels who made it through being front-liners in this time of pandemic, and to all the employees on furlough, for their trust and confidence that one day we will work back together again,” Albiso further said.
With the theme “Together as One,” Megaworld Hotels held its virtual Tree Lighting Ceremony, led by Albiso and the different hotel general managers—from Eastwood Richmonde Hotel, Richmonde Ortigas, Hotel Lucky Chinatown, Belmont Manila, Savoy Manila, Belmont Boracay, Savoy Boracay, Richmonde Iloilo, Savoy Mactan, to Twin Lakes Tagaytay.
