A recent survey found that due to the pandemic, nearly seven employees out of 10 in the United States are working remotely — and many of them don’t want to return to the office full-time.

According to collaborative video conferencing and classroom technology specialist OwlLabs, 69% of U.S. full-time employees are currently working from home. A state of affairs that many people appreciate.

75% of respondents said they felt just as or more productive (8% said they felt much more productive). 23% of employees would be willing to take a pay cut of over 10% in order to be able to continue to work from home when the COVID-19 pandemic ends.

The other benefits of such setups for employees include 40 fewer minutes spent in commuting every day, and an average of $479.20 (P23,000) saved every month.

Remote working options have become so important to certain workers that 46% stated that they would be looking for a new job if they couldn’t continue working from home at least a few days a week after the pandemic. This would have direct implications on many American lives. For instance, 29% of respondents would move to the suburbs while 12% would be ready to move even further away.

This survey was conducted on 2,025 full-time workers in the U.S. between the ages of 21 to 65 between June and July 2020. RGA
