RealtyTV debuts on podcast

/ 04:30 AM October 17, 2020

Twelve years and 17 seasons ago, I, along with a small team of wide-eyed production people and hosts Gabe Mercado and Angel Jacob, launched what would be the Philippines’ first TV show dedicated to real estate and construction.

The vision was to have a platform where people could watch the latest developments in real estate and get a sneak peak into the projects before they even launch. Philippine Realty TV was groundbreaking and ahead of its time. With topnotch cinematography, coupled with talented hosts and an evolving business model that eventually had us not just documenting but also building concept homes, the show to this day continues to be the innovation leader in real estate television in the country.

Latest foray

As we continue this tradition of innovation with our upcoming 18th season on CNN Philippines, we now break ground and expand into a relatively new platform that has lately grown by leaps and bounds. RealtyTV Podcast is the latest foray of the brand, as we make it more relevant and responsive to the ever-growing tastes, preferences and touch points of our audience.

FEATURED STORIES

To say that podcasting is booming is an understatement. Globally, podcasting is said to be headed towards its golden age as both podcast creators and listeners have been growing at an exponential rate. According to our distribution and marketing partner Podcast Network Asia, the Philippines was the 6th fastest growing country in terms of podcast listening. Since the pandemic, the group has seen an unprecedented 42 percent hike in podcast consumption globally and a remarkable 100 percent increase in the Philippines.

Filipino podcast listeners are loyal, affluent, and tech-savvy. I personally listen to podcasts when exercising or while on long car rides. Some listen when they’re at home or in-between activities. Bottom line is that podcasting is a blue ocean where the listeners are a captured market, with data showing 40 percent of its audience listening to an entire episode they are engaged in.

The TV in RealtyTV Podcast refers to the video version of the podcasts to be aired via YouTube and Facebook. Segments of RealtyTV Podcast include Realty Spotlight, which will feature residential, commercial and industrial projects; Realty Talk, a thought leadership series; and Supplier Showcase, which will allow us to go through the process of getting to know industry suppliers.

Finally, we will occasionally weave our content with our media partner Inquirer Property and vice versa, allowing both platforms to reach an ever-evolving and dynamic real estate market.

RealtyTV Podcast will give our listeners the vicarious experience of digging deep and engaging thought leaders and industry stakeholders, one to two-hour conversations at a time.

RealtyTV Podcast premieres November 4 at 7 a.m. and is available for download on Spotify, Apple Podcast, Google Podcast, Overcast, Breaker, Castbox, Pocket Casts, Radio Public. Check out the video versions on Youtube (Philippine Realty TV) and Facebook (PhilRealtyTV)
