MANILA, Philippines — Global Electric Transport (GET), a Makati-based transport firm, signed an agreement with South Korean company C-SO Funding for the financing of the deployment of air-conditioned electric buses in key cities nationwide.

According to a GET statement, the buses are powered by a rapid charging system that gives them a range of 100 kilometers.

The buses will use a touchless payment system and geolocation devices that can be also used for contact tracing.

“We are looking forward to introducing the future of public transport in the Philippines. It will have no harmful emissions, our buses will be comfortable, payments would be contactless and our drivers will be well-trained,”  Freddie Tinga, chairman of GET, said.

C-SO is a leading financial technology and movable assets lending firm based in South Korea.
