GMA offers free use of digital TV channels
MANILA, Philippines — GMA Network Inc. is offering the free use of two of its digital television (DTV) channels as the government prepares to implement remote learning during the COVID-19 pandemic.
GMA said the two DTV channels could be used for the Department of Education’s blended learning program.
“This is part of the Kapuso Network’s efforts to help the government curb the spread of COVID-19 in the country, and, at the same time, provide Filipino students access to quality education while keeping them safe at home,” GMA Network said in a statement.
GMA’s DTV channels may be accessed by students whose TV sets are equipped with special digital receivers. GMA launched its own device called the Affordabox last June. — (Miguel R. Camus)
