The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) aims to generate Chinese investor interest in the country’s service industry when it showcases Philippine service exporters during the country’s online participation in the China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS) this month.
The DTI’s Export Marketing Bureau (EMB) said the country would be joining CIFTIS on Sept. 3 to 7, the first and the largest comprehensive exhibition in the service trade field, both in China and globally.
CIFTIS 2020 is cosponsored by the Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China and the Beijing Municipal Government.
The online Philippine Pavilion will feature the country’s competitive advantages and offerings in the services industry through exhibiting photos and videos in different industries, the DTI said in a recent statement.
The industries the DTI referred to were information technology-business process management, software development, animation, game development, film, digital creative original intellectual property, construction and engineering.
Philippine exhibitors include 18 companies, five private sector associations, and three government agencies from the following sectors: construction and engineering outsourcing; IT-enabled services such as software development, digital marketing, business process outsourcing, customer relationship management, animation, and game development; e-learning and training; film production and visual effects; and higher education services.
“The objectives of Philippine participation are to promote Philippine IT-enabled services including construction and engineering, creatives, and education as part of market diversification and explore potential business cooperation/partnership with Chinese enterprises and position the Philippines as an ideal outsourcing destination,” said DTI-EMB Director Senen Perlada.
The delegation will participate in online business matching meetings and conferences organized by partner organizations like China Asean Business Council, China Association for Trade in Services and Beijing Association of Services Sourcing. INQ
