Captive market helping buoy AllHome sales

The Villar family’s retail group AllHome Corp. said the business slowdown in the first semester was cushioned by captive buyers in nearby residential communities.

This was part of the company’s strategy to locate stores and branches close to real estate projects, including those owned by affiliate Vista Land & Lifescapes Inc., one of the country’s largest property developers.

“With all branches situated close to residential developments, AllHome becomes a natural and preferred option for homeowners because of ease of access, especially during the current pande­mic,” the company said in a statement over the weekend.

This helped AllHome post revenues of P4.85 billion in the first half of 2020, lower by 4 percent compared to the same period last year.

AllHome positions itself as a “one-stop full line home center.” Its business strategy also relies on serving projects under Villar’s Vista Land.

“Through its consumer base, Vista Land provides its affiliates with access to a wide and captured market of homeowners and homebuilders,” the company said.

“Vista Land’s locations also attract other developers to locate nearby, contributing to the growth of AllHome’s captive market,” it added.

AllHome cited other stra­tegies, including the expansion of its physical network, online shopping, Viber communities and personal shopper services.

“AllHome is projected to maintain this growth as it continues to introduce innovative ways for homeowners to shop and as more household needs arise due to the extended community quarantine,” the company said. INQ
