Toyota may still be enduring production shortages caused by the March earthquake, the tsunami disaster in Japan as well as the ongoing flood crisis in Thailand but this will not stop Toyota from claiming the position as the Philippines’ top-selling carmaker.

In a report released by the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines, Toyota Motor Philippines is still No. 1 after selling a total of 5,895 units last month.

In terms of ranking, TMP continues to lead the industry with a 38 percent share of the market, thanks to the 45,316 units sold so far.

Triple Crown

Leading both the PC and CV segments, TMP is inching closer to taking the 10th consecutive triple crown, a feat that a car manufacturer achieves annually for leading in all three categories—No. 1 in Overall vehicle sales, No. 1 in PC segment, and No. 1 in CV segment.
