Grant Thornton urges comprehensive response to cybercrime threats

The threat of cybercrime is growing rapidly as companies conduct more of their businesses online, whether by communicating with employees or bringing goods to the market, according to an international consultancy firm.

In a statement, Grant Thornton International Ltd. urged firms to adopt a comprehensive approach to cybersecurity that addresses weaknesses from business design, implementation and monitoring of internal awareness and training programs.

“As organizations become increasingly dependent on digital technology, the opportunities for cybercriminals continue to grow,” said the firm’s head of advisory services Third Librea.

To this end, Grant Thornton launched this week its online service called “Vigil@nt Cybersecurity”.

With the company’s expertise and experience in cybersecurity consulting and learning and development services, Vigil@nt Cybersecurity provides up-to-date and relevant cybersecurity awareness content delivered through an automated learning and phishing simulation platform that makes learning more effective, Grant Thornton said.

The service aims to makes employees more aware and careful against real life cybersecurity attacks in today’s increasingly digital world.

“We elevate the effectiveness of cybersecurity education through Vigilant Cybersecurity,” Librea said. “The platform works to influence employee behavior changes and reduce risk at every level of an organization by strengthening the ‘human firewall’.”
