China okays urban rail projects worth US$67.9b in Bay Area

HONG KONG — China’s state planner has approved several urban railway projects worth 474.1 billion yuan (US$67.91 billion) in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area.

Those projects will have a total length of 775 kilometers, according to a notice posted on the website of the National Development and Reform Commission on Monday.

The plan, which aims to boost intercity transportation capacity in the bay area, comprises 13 railway projects and five hub projects, according to the notice.
