Wow! Women on Wheels: The New Normal
A lot has changed in the past couple of months due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Like the rest of the world, Filipinos have to face the coming days with a new set of rules and a different way of life. However, the renowned resilience and perseverance of the Filipino people remain constant. No matter what obstacles they face, Filipinos will always find ways to survive and find joy in every situation—just like the hardworking women of M Lhuillier.
M Lhuillier employees like Camille Forrosuelo, Cathirine Echeveria, Jeneth Rose Entoma, Wingielyn Marie Senajon, Nicole Estrella, and Annie Dinawanad have to brave the pandemic and go to work every day to help connect Filipino families through reliable financial services. But with the limitations in transportation, the daily commute can be quite a challenge.
Deeply motivated to continue working for their families, these brave women chose to pedal their bikes and embrace the new normal. The group has been growing in number since they started biking to and from work a month ago. Aside from being a mode of transportation, they said that it is a fun form of exercise. Some are even happy that they were able to lose weight because of biking.
Although M Lhuillier made sure that they provide employees with shuttles to and from work, the ladies prefer getting on their bikes as they believe it’s much safer to ride alone. Although it can be exhausting in some days, they draw strength from their loved ones waiting for them to come home.
