Breakthrough in emissions monitoring by DENR’s EMB
Environmental Management Bureau (EMB) Director William Cuñado and Power Marketplace and Exchange Corp. (PMEx) president Haile Pargad Biteng signed on June 30 a memorandum of agreement to provide an online database for efficient and effective monitoring of stakeholders’ commitments in the Environmental Compliance Certificate and Environmental Management Plan.
This online database system is pursuant to DENR (Department of Environment and Natural Resources)-EMB issued Administrative Order No. 2017-14 titled Online Transmission of Data from Continuous Emission Monitoring System and Closed-Circuit Television of Major Industries, mainly power plants. PMEx will be providing free hardware and software support for real-time monitoring of air emissions as well as provide the necessary technical training to the DENR-EMB staff in order to operate and manage the system. This innovation offers zero data loss and a ready solution technology to easily adapt to the needs of the EMB and provide accurate and efficient data to EMB’s stakeholders.
LabX signs MOA with CLEAR COVID-19 app for contact tracing
Leading COVID-19 testing firm LabX Corp. has inked a partnership with local software company Spring Valley Tech Corp. to save more lives and aid in contact tracing in the country as the COVID-19 pandemic grips the world.
In a memorandum of agreement (MOA) signed on Thursday, LabX, in partnership with Spring Valley Tech Corp., will undertake the tracing capability and functionalities of Citizen’s Logistics and Early Assessment Report tool (CLEAR), a software application that provides record-creation and contact-tracing functionalities for the control and monitoring of COVID-19.
“Establishing a partnership with LabX further enhances the value proposition of CLEAR as it unifies LabX’s excellence and reliability in COVID-19 testing with CLEAR’s powerful digital experience to ensure our nation’s safety and health,” said Jonathan Defensor de Luzuriaga, chief executive officer of Spring Valley Tech Corp. and president of the Philippine Software Industry Association.
“Through this contact tracing app, we could save more lives and the livelihood of the people. This could also provide a health-information exchange that will allow contact tracing in the country, which will be very useful for the government,” shared Hector Thomas Navasero, CEO of LabX Corp.
