Villar completes ULTRA stadium conversion into COVID-19 facility in 3 days

ULTRA stadium converted by the Villar group into a temporary COVID-19 facility in just 3 days

The group of tycoon Manuel Villar has completed the conversion of the Philippine Institute of Sports Multi-Purpose Arena or ULTRA stadium in Pasig City into a 132-bed quarantine facility.

The new facility called “We Heal as One” Center at ULTRA was completed by the Villar group, together with the Department of Public Works and Highways, in just three days by working 24/7.

The new facility adds to the country’s limited capacity to isolate and treat COVID-19 patients. Two nurse stations in the facility were also completed in record time, the Villar group said in a press statement on Monday.

“We acknowledge that optimal isolation space is much needed amid this pandemic, hence, we fully support the government in its drive to repurpose any available government or private structure into health facilities,” said Villar, founder and chair of the Villar group of companies.

The health facility at ULTRA is set to be turned over to The Philippine National Police (PNP) Medical Corps. within the week.

In mid-April, the Villar group also turned over the PICC quarantine facility with 294 patient cubicles, six nurse stations, and six smart houses outside Forum building three days ahead of schedule.
