PAL getting back to normal operations

Operations of national flag carrier Philippine Airlines (PAL) are nearing normalcy as more flights resume operations at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (Naia) Terminal 2.

PAL had temporarily used Terminal 3 as its home base for a month following the implementation of its outsourcing program.

But starting on Thursday, flight services between Manila and Tacloban and Cotabato will move back to its hub at Naia Terminal 2.

These include PAL flights PR391, PR392, PR393 and PR394 between Manila and Tacloban as well as PR187 and PR188 between Manila and Cotabato.

“As service providers gradually meet manpower requirements, more flights are expected to follow suit and revert back to Terminal 2,” PAL said in a statement.

Meanwhile, 18 PAL flights will remain in Terminal 3 until further notice.

These are PR123 and PR124  Manila to Zamboanga and vice versa; PR291 and PR292  Manila to Dumaguete and vice versa; PR163 and PR164  Manila to Ozamiz and vice versa; PR167 and PR168  Manila to Dipolog and vice versa; PR133 and PR134 Manila to Bacolod and vice versa; PR293 and PR294  Manila to Dumaguete and vice versa; PR157 and PR158  Manila to Bacolod and vice versa; PR125 and PR126  Manila to Zamboanga and vice versa; PR135 and PR136  Manila to Bacolod and vice versa.

PAL flights departing from Terminal 3 in the morning, namely: PR123, PR291, PR163, PR167, PR133 are checked in at island C (counters C06 to C14) while PAL’s afternoon flights in the same terminal, namely: PR293, PR157, PR125, PR135 are checked in at island A (counters A17 to A23).

PAL had been operating some flights from Naia’s Terminal 3 since late September, shortly before spinning off  its three noncore businesses, namely airport ground services, inflight catering and call center reservations, last October 1.

PAL said it had been trying to normalize operations in the wake of protests and strikes by members of its ground crew union who were affected by the spinoff.
