After suspending all restaurant operations for 10 days as a precautionary measure against the COVID-19 pandemic, the country’s leading casual dining chain operator Max’s Group Inc. (MGI) has resumed operations in selected locations effective April 5.

MGI rekindled delivery, take-out as well as ongoing humanitarian efforts, based on a MGI disclosure posted on the Philippine Stock Exchange on Tuesday.

“To prepare for resumption of operations, we reinforced containment, sanitation, and safety procedures in all the facilities that were re-opened for manufacturing and selling activities. We likewise continue to seek enhancements to existing protective measures to further insulate our personnel and customers from COVID-19-related health risks,” the disclosure said.

MGI suspended Philippine operations on March 26 and was originally intended to take effect until the end of the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) period.

“We acknowledge the authentic market demand that has always remained for our deep, diverse roster of restaurant brands, and believe that with these enhanced protocols in place, we are well-positioned to address this situation safely and securely,” the group added.

MGI said it would continue to monitor the current environment to execute the “most effective and mindful means to sustain productivity and profitability.”
