Cebu-based firm CLI gives bonus pay, health kits to workers

MANILA, Philippines — Property developer Cebu Landmasters Inc. (CLI) on Thursday said that as construction continues in 10 areas in the Visayas and Mindanao region, it will have the early release of its 14th month pay to its regular workforce, who are mostly based in Cebu City.

The property developer added that aside from its regular workforce, it will provide additional financial pay to its construction workers.

In a statement, CLI said that the additional financial support to the 5,000-member third party construction workers will be given through daily allowances from 10 cities, namely Cebu, Mandaue, Mactan, Davao, Cagayan de Oro, Dumaguete, Bacolod, Iloilo, Bohol and Ormoc.

Cebu, as well as other VisMin areas, were placed under quarantine as a way to contain the spread of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in their area.

So far, there have been 217 confirmed cases, including 17 deaths and eight recoveries.

All workers will also be provided health kits and masks, CLI chairman and CEO Jose Soberano III said.

“Should there be a lockdown, pay without work will be provided for those who cannot work from home,” he added.

“We cannot predict the business impact of COVID-19 at this time but are committed to put ourselves in the best position to resume normal operations when this situation recovers,” Soberano further stated.

“CLI will continue to place the well-being of our people first and make sure to deliver and cater to the needs of our buyers, residents, business partners, government, and communities we serve.”
