When success comes to you, you either give back your blessings or pay it forward. This is what fast-rising real estate development company Golden Bay Land Holdings did recently as it held its first-ever Golden Bay Land-Aspire Basketball Cup. The initiative is part of the company’s regular corporate social responsibility (CSR) efforts as it aims to spread camaraderie and instigate values such as teamwork, dedication, sportsmanship, collaboration, and charity among its workforce.
Aside from Golden Bay employees, industry partners, contractors, suppliers, and stakeholders also took part in the activity. Proceeds gathered from the event were then donated to the Tahanang Walang Hagdanan, Inc. (TWHI). The 47-year old foundation is a non-stock, non-government organization that provides guidance and assistance to persons with disabilities (PWD). Most of its programs are focused on improving the quality of life for the orthopedically impaired through various trainings, educational grants, mobility aid, and livelihood programs.
Golden Bay chose to support TWHI because of its enduring legacy and platform that values transparency, integrity, and excellence. “We are proud to partner with an organization that provides continuous and comprehensive development programs that aims to bolster economic viability for its members and society in general. The various activities carried out by the group–patterned after a sustainable and economically viable social enterprise–really impressed our company because it generally aimed toward having that long-term impact in the communities it serves,” says Jardin Brian B. Wong, COO of Golden Bay Land Holdings.
As it continues to grow, Golden Bay Land Holdings will strive to continue to look for worthwhile activities and courses of action that will cater to the growth of their employees and the general public. “We are committed in doing our part in nation building and we aim to promote a more sustainable and proactive society,” adds Wong.
