Healthway ATC now offers an Oil and Gas UK (OGUK) medical exam with registered doctor

In landing a job in the offshore oil and gas industry in the United Kingdom, or OGUK, one will need to undergo a very thorough and rigid medical exam. The OGUK offshore medical is an assessment of the medical fitness of someone to work offshore and is to be carried out only by an OGUK accredited doctor in an OGUK registered Clinic. 

OGUK is the leading trade association for the United Kingdom offshore oil and gas industry. They have over 500 UK offshore oil and gas companies who employ different workers like riggers, engineers, drivers, administrative staff, among others, who need to undergo specific medical pre-employment packages to be considered fit to work before they can be mobilized.

OGUK has a set of standards of fitness that need to be met by anyone who will work in the offshore industry. That standard was initially applied in the UK but is being increasingly accepted as a worldwide indicator of health and fitness for anyone working in the oil and gas industry. 

The OGUK medical exams, which are all available at Healthway in Alabang Town Center, involve the completion and discussion of the OGUK medical health questionnaire; urinalysis; vision testing; audiometry testing and any diagnostic exam that is required by the company such as additional drug and/or alcohol screening. The applicant’s over-all fitness to work is evaluated based on set parameters as enumerated in the OGUK official forms. When issued, the OGUK medical is valid for two years.
