Maximum Bank creditors given up to Jan. 21 to file claims

Creditors of shuttered Maximum Savings Bank Inc. were given until Jan. 21 to file their claims against the bank’s assets, according to Philippine Deposit Insurance Corp. (PDIC).

PDIC, the receiver of said closed bank, said claims filed after the said date would be disallowed.

Creditors refer to any individual or entity with a valid claim against the assets of a closed bank and include depositors with uninsured deposits that exceed the maximum deposit insurance coverage of P500,000.

Claims against the assets of Maximum Savings Bank may be filed at the PDIC Public Assistance Center on the 3rd floor of SSS building on Ayala Avenue corner V.A. Rufino Street, Makati City, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The prescribed claim form may be downloaded from the PDIC website, www.pdic.gov.ph.

PDIC called on creditors to transact only with authorized PDIC personnel.

In case claims are denied, creditors will be notified officially by PDIC through mail. Creditors whose claims are denied or disallowed may file their claims with the liquidation court within 60 days from receipt of PDIC’s final notice of denial of claim.

Maximum Savings Bank, Inc. was ordered closed by the Monetary Board (MB) of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas on Nov. 7, 2019, and PDIC, as the designated receiver, was directed by the MB to proceed with the takeover and liquidation of the closed bank in accordance with Section 12(a) of Republic Act No. 3591, as amended.

The bank has four branches located in Muntinlupa City, Batangas City in Batangas, and Calapan City and Puerto Galera both in Oriental Mindoro.
