No stock market trading due to ashfall

Ashfall from the eruption of Taal Volcano has paralyzed Philippine financial markets on Monday, Jan 13.

The Philippine Stock Exchange issued an advisory early Monday morning that there would be no trading and no clearing and settlement at the Securities Clearing Corporation of the Philippines.

This was to “ensure the safety of employees and traders in light of the volcanic ash emission of Taal Volcano,” the PSE said.
