Investing in health

If health is wealth, then people should be willing to invest to protect and preserve that valuable asset.

Air Intellipure, Inc. is counting on people’s strong desire to stay well and fit to create demand for its product. It is bringing to the Philippines the Pure Wellness indoor environment quality program and air purification technology and equipment developed by New York-based company HealthWay and sister brand Pure Global, licensor of the Pure Wellness program.

At the core of the wellness program is Intellipure, a state-of-the-art medical grade residential and commercial air purifying system designed to alleviate the adverse effects of toxic gases, pollutants and harmful microorganisms that pose a serious threat to people’s health and well-being.

Nikos Gitsis, founder of Air Intellipure Inc., says Pure Wellness program offered a solution to air quality problems in places of work and other indoor spaces.

“Manila is enveloped in a cloud of yellowish, grayish and brown smoke,” he says.

The company will initially target the hospitality industry, giving hotels and other places an opportunity to add value to their products by offering prospective guests an indoor environment without the health hazards found in the air outside.

It hopes to sell the program and its accompanying hardware to industries, particularly tourism and hospitality companies, and government agencies that may want to ensure their most important resources, their employees are performing at peak levels by giving them clean and healthy workplaces and they keep their clients safe from diseases within their premises.

Antony Papageorgiou, president of PURE Marine Solutions and vice president of PURE Solutions Global, LLC, who spearheads the promotion globally of the Pure Wellness program in the upscale hospitality, commercial and residential markets, says “pollution is incredible”.

He cites reports from international organizations that attributed about 4,000 deaths each year to poor quality air.

“There is no industry [that has] total immunity from dirty air,” he points out.

In view of this, the global wellness market was currently estimated at almost $5 trillion and still growing, he says.

“Wellness is very big and the trend is growing at a rate that is more than twice that of tourism,” he says.

Intellipure, Vinny Lobdell says, “is the world’s most advanced air purification system.”

Lobdell is global president of HealthWay, cofounder of Intellipure and chair and president of Pure Global, all based in Pulaski, New York, United States. It is a source of pride for Lobdell that the little known New York town is home base for the trailblazing product.

The World Health Organization, Lobdell says, had declared that “air pollution is the new tobacco.” He says it had also been found that pollution indoors could be a hundred times higher than outdoors.

Lobdell explains that there are three kinds of contaminants—particulates, microorganisms and gases.

What makes Intellipure different, Lobdell says, was that it addressed effectively and efficiently all contaminants, the “first air purification technology to address all three.”

Most air cleaners currently in the market did little to solve the problem of microorganisms, Lobdell adds. Other products targeted only one or two of the problems.

For this reason, Lobdell says Intellipure does not really have a competitor.

At the moment, Air Intellipure is targeting its sales pitches towards hotels offices and other public spaces. Although Intellipure is priced lower than a better-known air purifying system, it may still be pricey for home use. —Linda B. Bolido INQ
