PDIC sets deadline for claims against shuttered Maximum Bank

Creditors of Maximum Savings Bank Inc. have until Jan. 21, 2020 to file their claims against the bank’s assets, according to the country’s deposit insurance agency which is acting as the receiver of the shuttered financial institution.

“Claims filed after said date shall be disallowed,” Philippine Deposit Insurance Corp. (PDIC) said in a statement, explaining that “creditors” refer to any individual or entity with a valid claim against the assets of the bank, which was ordered closed last month by the Monetary Board of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas.

Creditors also include depositors with uninsured deposits that exceed the maximum deposit insurance coverage of P500,000.

PDIC announced that creditors of the closed bank could file their claims personally at its Public Assistance Center located at the 3rd Floor, SSS Bldg., 6782 Ayala Avenue corner V.A. Rufino St., Makati City, during office hours.

Creditors also have the option to file their claims through mail addressed to PDIC, as long as they are postmarked not later than Jan. 21, 2020. The prescribed claim form against the assets of the closed bank may be downloaded from the PDIC website, www.pdic.gov.ph.

PDIC reminded creditors to transact only with its authorized personnel.

In case claims are denied, creditors will be notified officially by PDIC through mail. Claims denied or disallowed by the PDIC may be filed with the liquidation court within 60 days from receipt of final notice of denial of claim. INQ
