Valenzuela taps W Express for logistics needs

The Valenzuela City Government announced a tieup with logistics company Wide Wide World Express Corp. (W Express), formerly DHL Philippines, to make the processing of business permits more convenient.

It said in a statement on Friday the partnership would bolster its Paspas Permit program, which was meant to reduce the processing time of business permit applications from 30 minutes to just 10 seconds.

“We chose W Express because we have used their service many a time to deliver important documents and found them reliable,” Valenzuela City Mayor Rexlon “Rex” Gatchalian said in the statement.

The Paspas Permit program covers business permits, building and construction permits, real property tax, tax declaration copies and tax mapping certificates.

In addition, the program also aimed to speed up the processing of other types of documents, such as real property documents, birth, death and marriage certificates and court decisions.

“We know how speed is critical to the success of every business, and this partnership guarantees that every applicant will get his or her document on time, every time,” W Express chair and president Dawn Feliciano said in the same statement.

Transactions are done online. Applicants will upload the necessary requirements and pay the corresponding fees.

Delivery time may take three to five working days for applicants in and outside Valenzuela City or Metro Manila, the local government said.

With the program, Valenzuela hopes to boost business activity in the city.

It noted most businesses belong to the micro, small and medium enterprise segment.

“With Paspas Permit, the city expects the share to increase by up to 80 percent as the system will make it easier for more people to put up their own businesses,” the statement showed.
